Hello, I hope that you have all had a good holidays. This term our topic is Japan and we are really looking forward to our trip to Wagamamas.
PE days are Monday and Friday.
Home reading books are changed on Mondays and Thursdays.
On Tuesdays the children will bring home a book of their choice, which comes with an exercise book to record what the children thought about the book. This is not another Home reading book. These books are to help children develop a love of books. The children can draw a picture about the story and write sentences in the exercise book, but only if they want to. In order to make sure there are always enough books for the children to choose from, the children can only have a new book on Tuesday if they have returned their book.
Spelling Homework On Monday the children will bring home a spelling booklet. It has all the term’s spelling lists in. The date at the bottom of the list is the date of that week’s spellings to be learnt. Spelling tests will be on Tuesdays. The words in this term’s and Term 2s booklets are the Common Exception words that the children have to be able to spell correctly by the end of Year 1/Year 2. So it is important that the children secure spelling them as early as possible.
As you know Mr. Holyoake and I share the teaching of Robins Class. Mr. Holyoake teaches the class on Monday and Friday and I teach the class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
