COVID19 and Remote Education

Please see below information regarding the remote education provision available at Pitton should a situation arise requiring Home Learning to need to be available.

Emergency Conditions

Conditions sometimes arise which affect the normal running of the school, e.g. extremely adverse weather. A decision therefore has to be made as to what action to take. The first consideration will always be the safety of children and staff with the main objective being to keep the school open as long as possible.

A decision to close the school would be made by the Headteacher after a consultation with the Chair of Governors. Spire FM would be advised of the schools closure as early as possible. We would also advise parents on the school website and using our pyramid phone system, if we had to close due to unforeseen circumstances. 

Please ensure your home and/or mobile telephone number is kept up to date on our school records.

Emergency Closure Procedures – Covid19

In the event of a local outbreak, the PHE health protection team or local authority may advise the school to close temporarily to help control transmission. Should this be the case school will provide Remote Education support using the whole school learning platform Class Dojo.

Parents will be notified of school closure, either whole or partial, following the usual Emergency Conditions procedures.
