Visit from Bishop Andrew, Bishop of Ramsbury
Staff and pupils were lucky enough today, Monday 11th November 2024, to have a visit from Bishop Andrew; Bishop of Ramsbury. He led a collective worship about Armistice Day and spent time with staff and pupils. This was particularly special for our children from military families who met with Bishop Andrew at the end of the Collective Worship. Bishop Andrew asked the children what made Pitton special. Some of their answers included:
‘It is a happy place’ Freya Y1,
‘It’s lovely’ Jude Reception,
‘We do writing and I love writing’ Arlo Y1,
‘If you have a problem you can go to the teachers and they are always there, no matter what’ Izzy Y6
While in school Bishop Andrew took time to share with the children the posthumous medals his uncle received in 1945. This was a very thought provoking and poignant moment for the children and one that allowed them to reflect on what it means to them when we remember those known and unknown to us on Armistice day.
